We are pleased to present OPEN HOUSE, a group exhibition of objects and furniture opening November 4, 2011 from 6 - 9pm. This inaugural exhibition is the first in a series intended to highlight work created by the resident designers of 4426 N Ravenswood Ave:
OPEN HOUSE presents a diverse array of objects, ranging from wall art to a collection of functional pieces including chairs, light fixtures, tables, coat hooks and a one-of-a-kind pot rack. Hand-made of metal, wood, or a combination of the two, this collected work displays a range of style and approach. All of the designers share in their devotion to thoughtful design and attention to the smallest of details.
metal+works opened in 1999 as a small shop in Chicago dedicated to high-end metal craft. Today the studio designs and fabricates limited edition furniture and architectural pieces. metal+works is the vehicle by which collaborators Ross and Elizabeth Fiersten celebrate the intrinsic value of making objects by hand.
Bridgette Buckley Studio was established to bring products to market that have clear purpose, express economy of materials, and acknowledge an organic sensibility. Over the last fifteen years, Bridgette has worked professionally in the fields of architecture, interior architecture, product design, and academia. Extensive travel in Scandanavia has galvanized her love of furniture, from its construction to its ability to conjure memories both collective and personal.
